부경대 상징 향유고래 캐릭터 ‘백경이’, 학교 홍보대사 됐다

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)의 상징동물인 향유고래를 형상화한 캐릭터 ‘백경이’가 학교 명예 대외홍보대사로 온·오프라인 홍보활동에 본격적으로 나선다.

부경대 장영수 총장은 8월 3일 오후 대학본부 3층에서 대형 캐릭터 탈인형 형태로 제작된 ‘백경이’에게 명예 대외홍보대사 임명장을 수여했다.

이날 임명장을 받은 ‘백경이’는 동영상 등 온라인 홍보 콘텐츠 제작 참여를 비롯해 캠퍼스투어, 입시박람회 등 각종 오프라인 행사에 참여하며 부경대 홍보에 나선다.

‘백경이’는 부경대의 상징동물인 향유고래를 형상화한 캐릭터다. 향유고래는 이빨고래 중 덩치가 제일 크고 머리가 영리해 바다의 제왕으로 불리며, 무한한 자유와 참된 진리를 추구하는 부경대의 정신을 담고 있다.

이번에 명예 대외홍보대사로 임명된 ‘백경이’는 지난해 부경대가 개최한 전국 캐릭터 공모전에서 대상을 받은 디자인으로 탄생한 캐릭터다. 이 캐릭터 디자인은 크고 역동적인 고래의 형상을 단순하면서도 귀엽게 표현해내 부경대의 친근한 이미지를 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.

부경대 대외홍보대사 블루 13기 박보승 학생(금속공학전공 2학년)은 “부경대를 상징하는 백경이와 함께 학생, 시민들에게 필요한 정보를 재미있게 전달할 수 있는 기발한 홍보 콘텐츠를 제작하며 즐겁게 홍보활동을 해 나가겠다.”라고 말했다. <부경투데이>

'Baekyong(ee)', a character that embodies the sperm whale, the symbol of Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo), will start full-fledged online and offline public relations activities as an honorary public relations ambassador for the school.

On the afternoon of August 3rd, President Jang Young-Soo of Pukyong National University presented a certificate of appointment as an honorary ambassador for public relations to 'Baekyong' which was made as a large-sized character masked doll on the 3rd floor of the administration building.

'Baekyong', which received the appointment certificate on this day, will participate in the production of online promotional content such as videos, as well as participate in various offline events such as campus tours and entrance exam fairs to promote Pukyong National University.

'Baekyong' is a character that embodies the symbol of Pukyong National University, the sperm whale. It is the largest of the toothed whales and is called the king of the sea because of its cleverness, and it contains the spirit of Pukyong National University that pursues infinite freedom and sincere truth.

‘Baekyong’, which was appointed as an honorary public relations ambassador this time, is a character born with a design that won the grand prize in a national character contest held by Pukyong National University last year. This character design is expected to enhance the friendly image of the Pukyong National University by expressing the shape of a big and dynamic whale in a simple yet cute way.
