국립부경대 해군 학군장교, 전국 1등으로 ‘대통령상’

- 오지윤 후보생 … 28일 2024 학군장교 합동임관식에서 수상

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)는 해군학군단 오지윤 학군장교 후보생(냉동공조공학전공 20학번)이 전국 해군 학군장교 가운데 최우수 후보생으로 선정돼 대통령상을 받았다고 밝혔다.

오지윤 후보생은 2월 28일 충북 괴산 육군학생군사학교에서 열린 2024년 대한민국 학군장교 합동임관식에서 소위로 임관하고, 대통령상을 받았다.

대통령상은 전국 학군단의 학군장교 후보생을 대상으로 임관종합평가, 군사학평가, 입영훈련성적, 훈육평가 등을 통해 가장 우수한 후보생을 선발해 수여한다.

오지윤 후보생은 지난 1월 진행된 전국 해군학군단 동계입영훈련에서 만점으로 1등을 차지한 것을 비롯해 뛰어난 군사학 성적과 학군장교 후보생의 중대장, 대대장 역할을 맡는 등 두드러진 활약을 인정받았다.

특히 그는 학군단 후보생으로 활동하면서도 학부 성적을 4.0 이상 최상위권으로 유지하는 한편, 학교의 대표 봉사단 중 하나인 부경UN서포터즈의 회장으로도 활약하는 등 학부 생활과 학군단 생활 간의 시너지 효과를 낸 대표 모범사례로 주목받았다.

그는 “학군단을 통해 동기와 선후배들은 물론, 전국적인 인맥을 쌓으며 리더십을 키울 수 있었고, 학군단 경험을 바탕으로 학교 대표 봉사단에서도 활동하며 많은 경험을 쌓는 소중한 기회를 얻을 수 있었다.”라고 말했다.

진해 기초군사교육단 교육 후 자대배치를 받게 되는 오지윤 후보생은 “정의로운 장교가 되겠다. 내가 먼저 나서 어렵고 불편한 점을 없애는 장교가 되기 위해 노력하겠다.”라고 각오를 밝혔다.

한편 국립부경대 해군학군단은 오지윤 후보생의 대통령상을 비롯해 박준하 후보생(해양생산시스템관리학부 20학번)이 합참의장상, 박강호 후보생(국제통상학부 20학번)이 한미연합사령관상을 수상하는 성과를 거뒀다. <부경투데이>

A navy ROTC officer at PKNU received the 'presidential award' for being ranked first in Korea

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that Navy ROCT officer cadet Oh Ji-Yoon (class of 20, majoring in refrigeration and air-conditioning engineering) was selected as the best candidate among ROTC officers in Korea and received the presidential award.

Oh Ji-Yoon was commissioned as an ensign and received the presidential award at the Republic of Korea ROTC officers joint commissioning ceremony for 2024 held at the Army cadet military school located in Goesan, North Chungcheong province on February 28.

The presidential award is awarded to ROTC cadets nationally by selecting the best candidates through a comprehensive commission evaluation, military science evaluation, enlistment training performance, and disciplinary evaluation.

Oh Ji-Yoon was recognized for his outstanding performance, including taking first place with a perfect score in the national Navy ROTC winter enlistment training held in January last year, as well as his excellent military academic records and taking on the roles of company commander and battalion commander for ROTC officer cadets.

He is a representative example of a synergy effect between undergraduate life and ROTC life, such as maintaining a top grade of 4.0 or higher in undergraduate school while working as a cadet for the school corps, and serving as president of Pukyong UN supporters, one of the school's representative volunteer groups.

He said, "I was able to develop my leadership skills by building a national network as well as with my classmates and seniors and juniors, through ROTC, also I was able to gain valuable opportunities to gain a lot of experience by working in the school's representative volunteer group based on my experience in ROTC."

Cadet Oh Ji-Yoon, who will be assigned to his unit after training at Naval education & training command in Jinhae, emphasized his determination, "I will make sure to be a just officer. I will do my best to become an officer who can take the lead and resolve difficult and inconvenient issues."
