국립부경대, ‘개교 79주년 & 통합 29주년 기념식’ 개최
- 9일 대학본부 … “역사의 새로운 전환점 만들자”

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 5월 9일 오전 대학본부 2층 대회의실에서 김영섭 전 총장, 박세호 총동창회장, 진길호 AMP동창회장 등 내빈과 교직원, 학생 등이 참석한 가운데 개교 79년 및 통합 29주년 기념식을 개최했다.
배상훈 총장은 “우리 대학은 광복 이후를 기점으로 개교 79주년, 부산수산대와 부산공업대가 전격 통합한 1996년을 기점으로 29주년을 맞았다.”라며, “지금까지 지역의 중심에서 활약하는 국립대학으로 굳건히 뿌리 내렸고, 명실공히 미래 인재 양성의 요람으로 우뚝 섰다.”라고 밝혔다.
이어 “여기에 그치지 않고 우리는 급변하는 현재의 교육환경 속에서도 혁신을 선도하고 있으며, 이제는 대학 운영의 근본과 원천부터 혁신하는 혁신의 대전환에 나서야 한다. 우리가 현재 해야만 하는 일들을 실천해 나가자.”라고 말했다.
배 총장은 “내년이면 개교 80주년, 통합 30주년이라는 또 다른 대학 역사의 기점을 맞게 된다. 지역과 연대하며 우리 대학 역사의 새로운 전환점을 만들자.”라고 강조했다.
이날 남종오(자원환경경제학전공), 박성흠(물리학과), 권한상(신소재시스템공학전공) 교수가 국내외 학술지에 우수 논문을 발표하는 등 학문 발전에 이바지한 공로로 제29회 학술상을 받았다.
박태정(평생교육·상담학전공), 김종오(미생물학과), 김창원(기계설계공학전공) 교수는 창의적이고 열정적인 연구 활동으로 신진연구자상을 받았다.
정호윤(국제지역학부), 김동현(기계조선공조공학전공), 임성인(화학공학과), 임해균(의공학전공), 이춘수(국제통상학부), 김일규(환경공학전공), 송하주(컴퓨터·인공지능공학부) 교수는 활발한 산학 공동연구와 기술이전 등의 공로로 산학협력상을 받았다.
이와 함께 교직원 27명이 대학발전공로자상을 받았고, 장윤석 교수(전기공학전공) 등 교직원 6명이 총동창회장상을 받았다. 직원 3명과 학생 35명이 특별포상, 30년 근속 교직원 15명과 20년 근속 교직원 22명이 장기근속 포상을 받았다. <부경투데이>

Pukyong National University Holds Ceremony Celebrating 79th Anniversary of Founding & 29th Anniversary of Integration
- Held on the 9th at the University Headquarters … “Let’s Create a New Turning Point in History”
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) held a commemorative ceremony on May 9 in the 2nd-floor main conference hall of the university headquarters, marking the 79th anniversary of its founding and the 29th anniversary of its integration. The event was attended by former president Kim Young-seop, Alumni Association President Park Se-ho, AMP Alumni Association President Jin Gil-ho, as well as faculty, staff, students, and distinguished guests.
President Bae-hoon stated, “Our university marks its 79th anniversary since its founding in the post-liberation era, and the 29th anniversary since the merger of Busan National Fisheries University and Busan National University of Technology in 1996.” He continued, “Pukyong has taken deep root as a leading national university at the heart of the region and has become a true cradle for nurturing future talents.”
He added, “We are not stopping here. Even amidst today’s rapidly changing educational landscape, we are leading innovation. Now is the time to embark on a grand transformation―one that reinvents the very foundation and driving force of university operations. Let us take action on what must be done now.”
President Bae Sang-hoon emphasized, “Next year marks the 80th anniversary of our founding and the 30th anniversary of our integration―another historic milestone for the university. Let us create a new turning point in Pukyong’s history by working in solidarity with our local community.”
On this day, Professors Nam Jong-oh (Department of Resource and Environmental Economics), Park Sung-heum (Department of Physics), and Kwon Han-sang (Department of Materials System Engineering) received the 29th Academic Award in recognition of their contributions to academic advancement through outstanding research papers published in domestic and international journals.
Professors Park Tae-jung (Department of Lifelong Education and Counseling), Kim Jong-oh (Department of Microbiology), and Kim Chang-won (Department of Mechanical Design Engineering) were honored with the Emerging Researcher Award for their creative and passionate research activities.
Professor Jeong Ho-yoon (Division of International Area Studies), Kim Dong-hyun (Major of smart mechanical and mobility), Lim Sung-in (Department of Chemical Engineering), Lim Hae-kyun (Department of Biomedical Engineering), Lee Choon-soo (Division of International Commerce), Kim Il-kyu (Department of Environmental Engineering), and Song Ha-joo (Department of Computer Engineering and artificial intelligence
) received the Industry-Academia Collaboration Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to joint research with industry and technology transfer.
In addition, 27 faculty and staff members received the University Development Award, and six faculty and staff members, including Professor Jang Yoon-seok (Department of Electrical Engineering), were honored with the Alumni Association President’s Award. Three staff members and 35 students received Special Commendations, while 15 faculty and staff members were recognized for 30 years of service and 22 for 20 years of service. <Pukyong Today>
