국립부경대생, 한국냄새환경학회 우수포스터상 수상- 정민찬 석사과정생국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 환경공학전공 정민찬 석사과정생이 한국냄새환경학회 우수포스터상을 수상했다고 밝혔다. 정민찬 석사과정생은 최근 여수 히든베이호텔에서 열린 2025년 한국냄새환경학회 정기학술대회에서 논문 ‘제련소 주변 대기 중 오염물질 농도 특성(Characteristics of pollutants in the surrounding ambient air of a smelter)’(지도교수 손윤석)을 발표해 우수포스터상을 받았다. 그는 이 연구에서 제련소 주변 지역의 대기 중 오염물질(PM10, SO₂, NO₂, 중금속 등) 농도 데이터를 활용해 시계열 변화 및 계절별 농도 특성을 분석함으로써 제련소 공정 활동과 대기 오염물질 농도 간의 연관성을 확인해 우수한 평가를 받았다. 그는 “특정 시점에 대기오염물질의 농도가 급증하는 현상은 지역 주민의 건강에 악영향을 줄 수 있고, 이는 제련소 배출 특성과 밀접하게 연관되어 있음을 시사한다. 이 연구는 향후 배출원 추적과 대기질 개선 정책 수립의 기반 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.”라고 밝혔다. 정민찬 석사과정생은 환경공학전공의 대기오염제어연구실에서 지도교수인 손윤석 교수와 함께 국내 제련소에서 배출되는 대기오염물질과 제강 사업소에서 배출되는 악취물질에 대한 연구를 수행하며 이를 관리할 수 있는 종합적인 대책을 마련하는 등 관련분야에서 활발한 연구 활동을 펼치고 있다. <부경투데이>

대외홍보센터 (2025-06-10)조회수 249국립부경대 교원창업기업 ㈜뉴트라잇, 수면 기능성원료 ‘라임과피추출물’ 식약처 개별인정 획득- K-건기식의 글로벌화 목표로 개발해 본격 수출 매진국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈) 교원창업기업 ㈜뉴트라잇(대표 조승목·식품공학전공 교수)은 자사가 개발한 ‘라임과피추출물(Lime Peel Extract)’이 식품의약품안전처로부터 수면의 질 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있다는 기능성을 최근 인정(제2025-26호) 받았다고 밝혔다. 뉴트라잇 기업부설연구소는 중소벤처기업부 TIPS 프로그램의 지원을 받아 K-건기식(건강기능식품)의 글로벌화를 목표로 세계 시장에서도 비교 우위에 있을 수 있는 수면 기능성원료 개발에 집중해 왔다. 이번 개별인정 획득으로 라임과피추출물의 글로벌화를 위한 견고한 기반을 마련하게 됐다. 뉴트라잇은 2021년 창업 초기부터 수면 기능성원료가 세계 건기식 시장에서 성장 가능성이 가장 높다고 판단, K-수면 기능성원료 개발에 착수했다. 연구 시작 단계부터 글로벌 시장 진출을 염두에 두고 세계적인 수면 기능성원료들 보다 모든 면에서 우수한 기능성원료 개발을 목표로 삼았다. 특히, 미국 등 선진국 진출에 필요한 기준을 충족하는 데 초점을 두고 연구를 진행했다. 뉴트라잇이 개발한 라임과피추출물의 수면개선 효과와 작용기전은 세포/동물시험 및 인체적용시험(임상시험)을 통해 과학적으로 밝혀졌다. 라임과피추출물은 중추신경계에 존재하는 GABA 수용체를 활성화해 깊은 수면을 증가시키는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 특히, 수면다원검사를 이용한 인체적용시험에서 라임과피추출물은 수면효율 증가, 입면시간 감소, 총수면시간 증가, 입면 후 각성시간 감소, Stage 2의 깊은 수면 증가 등 주요 수면 지표에서 유의적인 개선효과를 나타냈다. 특히 수면효율을 8.5% 증가시켰는데, 이는 유명 수면제와 맞먹는 수준으로 그 효능의 우수성을 가늠할 수 있다. 이 라임과피추출물에 대한 전임상 및 임상시험 연구 결과는 관련 분야 최상위 5%에 속하는 저명 학술지
국립부경대생, 북태평양해양과학기구(PICES) ‘젊은 과학자’ 선발- 김태연 석사과정생 국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈) 해양생물학과 김태연 석사과정생(지도교수 현상윤)이 2025년 북태평양해양과학기구 연차총회(PICES-2025)에 참가할 ‘젊은 과학자’로 선발됐다. 김태연 석사과정생은 지난 5월 8일부터 10일까지 부산 벡스코에서 열린 2025년 한국해양학회 춘계학술대회에서 진행된 PICES 젊은과학자 지원프로그램 선발심사를 통해 선발됐다. PICES는 북태평양 지역 해양환경에 대한 효과적인 관리와 학문적 교류를 위해 설립된 정부 간 국제기구로, 한국, 미국, 캐나다, 러시아, 중국, 일본 등 북태평양 주변 6개국이 회원으로 참여하고 있다. 김태연 석사과정생은 이번 선발로 오는 11월 일본 요코하마에서 열릴 예정인 PICES 연차총회에 항공료와 숙박비, 등록비 등을 지원받아 참석하게 된다. 그는 전국의 해양 분야 젊은 과학자들 가운데 5명 내외를 선발하기 위해 진행된 이번 선발심사에서 연구물 ‘A stock assessment of the chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) in Korea with environmental conditions being incorporated’를 구두발표해 우수한 평가를 받았다. 그는 이 연구물에서 시공간적 요소를 반영한 고등어 자원평가를 수행했으며, 주요 먹이생물인 플랑크톤과 가입개체군의 추세를 함께 제시해 이들 간의 연관성을 제시한 연구 성과를 인정받았다. <부경투데이> Pukyong National University Graduate Student Selected as ‘Young Scientist’ by North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES)- Kim Tae-yeon, Master’s Program Student Kim Tae-yeon, a master’s student in the Department of Marine Biology at Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon), under the supervision of Professor Hyun Sang-yoon, has been selected as a Young Scientist to participate in the 2025 Annual Meeting of the North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES-2025). Kim Tae-yeon, a graduate student was chosen through a selection process held during the 2025 Spring Meeting of the Korean Society of Oceanography, which took place from May 8 to 10 at BEXCO in Busan, as part of the PICES Young Scientist Support Program. PICES is an intergovernmental organization established to promote effective management of the North Pacific marine environment and foster scientific collaboration. Its six member countries include Korea, the United States, Canada, Russia, China, and Japan. With this selection, Kim Tae-yeon, a master’s student will receive support for airfare, accommodation, and registration fees to attend the upcoming PICES Annual Meeting, scheduled to be held in Yokohama, Japan, this November. He was selected through a competitive process aimed at choosing approximately five outstanding young marine scientists from across the country. During the evaluation, Kim Tae-yeon gave an oral presentation of his research titled “A stock assessment of the chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) in Korea with environmental conditions being incorporated,” which received high praise from the panel. In his study, Kim conducted a stock assessment of chub mackerel incorporating spatiotemporal factors and presented trends in plankton―its primary food source―and recruitment levels. His findings were recognized for successfully demonstrating the interrelationship among these variables.
국립부경대생들, 캠퍼스 벽화 그리기 봉사 ‘의기투합’- ‘PKNU 학생봉사단’·‘절영회’ 학생들 협업 활동 펼쳐△ 벽화 그리기 활동 중인 학생들. 국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈) 학생들이 지역 주민들의 산책로로 이용되는 캠퍼스 보행로 벽면을 벽화로 꾸미기 위해 힘을 모았다. 국립부경대 ‘PKNU 학생봉사단(이하 ‘봉사단’)’과 중앙동아리 ‘절영회’ 학생 70여 명은 5월 31일 용당캠퍼스 정문 일대에서 벽화 그리기 봉사활동을 공동으로 펼쳤다. 국립부경대생들은 이날 용당캠퍼스 정문에서 캠퍼스 안까지 뻗은 200m 길이의 진입로 우측 벽면 가운데 50m 구간을 바다 캠퍼스를 연상케 하는 그림으로 채웠다. 학생들은 산책 등으로 캠퍼스를 찾는 주민들과 구성원들을 위한 환경 개선 활동의 하나로 이번 벽화 그리기를 기획했다. 올해 첫 활동으로 50m 구간에 그림을 그렸고, 해마다 50m씩 그려 2028년까지 캠퍼스 진입로 벽면 전체를 벽화로 단장할 계획이다. 봉사단은 벽면 정비와 밑 작업, 초벌 도색과 채색 보조 역할을 맡았고, 절영회가 벽화 시안 작업 및 스케치, 도색 작업 등을 주관했다. 절영회는 지역 여러 단체와 함께 부산 지역 곳곳을 직접 찾아 벽화 그리기 봉사활동을 지속해서 펼치는 국립부경대의 중앙동아리로, 이번에 캠퍼스 벽화 그리기 활동에도 흔쾌히 동참했다. 봉사단 대표 김근희 학생(간호학과 2학년)은 “학생들이 힘을 합쳐 캠퍼스를 내 손으로 직접 꾸미는 경험을 할 수 있어 보람을 느낀다. 우리 활동이 이곳을 지나다니는 분들에게 작은 도움이 되면 좋겠다.”라고 밝혔다. <부경투데이> △ 벽화 그리기 활동 참가 학생들이 기념사진을 찍고 있다.
대외홍보센터 (2025-06-04)조회수 356국립부경대 박상혁 교수팀, ‘글로벌 기초연구실 지원사업’ 선정- 첨단 오가노이드 실시간 분석 평가 플랫폼 개발 추진△ 왼쪽부터 박상혁, 남승윤, 엄우람, 윤창한 교수. 국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 박상혁 교수(스마트헬스케어학부 의공학전공) 연구팀이 과학기술정보통신부와 한국연구재단의 ‘2025년도 글로벌 기초연구실(BRL) 지원 사업’에 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 박상혁 교수 연구팀은 공동 연구진인 남승윤(의공학전공), 엄우람(생물공학전공), 윤창한(인제대 의공학과) 교수와 함께 ‘첨단바이오 오가노이드 비파괴 특성 분석을 위한 AI 연계 SWE-ERS 통합 플랫폼 개발 글로벌 기초연구실’로 이번 사업에 최종 선정됐다. 글로벌 기초연구실 지원사업은 특정 연구주제 중심의 소규모 기초연구 그룹을 지원해 국가 기초연구 역량을 강화하기 위한 사업이다. 연구팀은 이번 선정으로 앞으로 3년간 15억 원을 지원받아 비파괴 방식 기반의 첨단 오가노이드의 실시간 분석을 위한 평가 플랫폼 개발에 나선다. 오가노이드는 조직 및 장기의 구조와 기능을 모방하는 3D 미니장기 혹은 장기 유사체를 의미하며, 맞춤 치료용 질환 모델링, 약물 스크리닝, 동물실험 대체 시험법, 조직재생 치료제로 활용할 수 있어 최근 주목받는 첨단 바이오소재다. 하지만 현재까지 형태가 일정하지 않은 비정형 오가노이드 인공조직에 대한 맞춤형 평가법이 없어, 주로 제작된 오가노이드를 파괴하는 방식으로 물리적, 화학적 분석이 수행되기 때문에 시간과 비용 소모가 크다는 한계가 있다. 또 대상 조직별 오가노이드 특성에 대한 객관적인 평가 기준이 없다는 제한점도 있다. 연구팀은 이 같은 문제를 극복하기 위해 생화학적 및 물리적 특성 변화를 비파괴적으로 측정하고, AI와 연계해 오가노이드의 분화도를 예측하는 기술 개발에 도전한다. 연구진은 집단 연구를 통해 3차원 오가노이드 배양 과정에서 배지로 방출되는 엑소좀(exosome) 내부에 존재하는 RNA 서열을 분석(ERS)해 비파괴적으로 오가노이드 조직 내의 성숙도를 확인하고, 2D 어레이 기반의 횡파 탄성초음파(SWE)를 활용해 오가노이드의 위치 및 시간별 기계적 특성 변화를 측정 분석하는 기술을 개발할 계획이다. 또 AI 기반 솔루션을 제공해 비파괴 분석법 간의 상관관계와 연계성 분석도 수행한다. 연구 책임을 맡은 박상혁 교수는 “본 연구는 첨단 재생의학 분야에서 오가노이드뿐만 아니라 이식형 생체소재 및 조직공학 장기 제작의 스케일업 공정에 필수적인 핵심 원천 기술을 개발하는 융합연구로, 학과 내 지역혁신 선도연구센터 및 중점연구소와의 연계를 통해 첨단 재생의공학 심화 연구의 선두 기초연구실이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다. <부경투데이> Professor Park Sang-hyuk’s Team at Pukyong National University, Selected for ‘Global Research Laboratory Program’- Project to Develop Advanced Real-Time Organoid Analysis and Evaluation Platform Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) announced that a research team led by Professor Park Sang-hyuk (Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Smart Healthcare) has been selected for the 2025 Global Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) Program, funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea. Professor Park Sang-hyuk’s team, in collaboration with Professors Nam Seung-yoon (Department Biomedical Engineering), Eom Woo-ram (Department of Biotechnology), and Yoon Chang-han (Department of Biomedical Engineering, Inje University), was selected for its proposal titled “Global Research Laboratory for the Development of an AI-Integrated SWE-ERS Platform for Non-Destructive Characterization of Advanced Bio-Organoids.” The Global Basic Research Laboratory program supports small-scale research groups focused on specific topics, with the goal of strengthening the nation’s capacity for basic science research. With this selection, the research team will receive 1.5 billion KRW in funding over the next three years to develop a real-time evaluation platform for advanced organoids using non-destructive analysis methods. Organoids are three-dimensional mini-organs or organ-like structures that mimic the architecture and function of real tissues and organs. They are considered next-generation bio-materials with promising applications in personalized disease modeling, drug screening, alternatives to animal testing, and regenerative medicine. However, current evaluation methods for irregularly shaped artificial organoid tissues are limited. Because there are no customized assessment tools, researchers often rely on destructive techniques that involve breaking down the organoids for physical and chemical analysis―an approach that is time-consuming and costly. In addition, the lack of standardized criteria for evaluating organoid characteristics across different tissue types remains a significant challenge. To address these challenges, the research team aims to develop a non-destructive evaluation technology that measures biochemical and physical property changes in organoids and predicts their differentiation levels through artificial intelligence. Through collaborative research, the team plans to analyze RNA sequences contained within exosomes released into the culture medium during the 3D organoid growth process―a method known as Exosome RNA Sequencing (ERS)―to non-destructively assess tissue maturity. In addition, they will develop a technique using shear wave elastography (SWE) based on a 2D array system to measure and analyze changes in the mechanical properties of organoids over time and location. The project also includes the development of AI-based solutions to analyze correlations and interrelationships between these non-invasive evaluation methods. Professor Park Sang-hyuk, the principal investigator, stated, “This research represents a multidisciplinary effort to develop core technologies essential for scaling up implantable biomaterials and engineered organs in advanced regenerative medicine. We aim to establish this laboratory as a leading center for foundational research in regenerative biomedical engineering by closely collaborating with the university’s Regional Innovation Leading Research Center and other key research institutes.”
국립부경대, 인문사회 융합인재양성사업 협력대학 선정- 인천대·서강대·대구대·상지대와 ‘포용사회’ 분야 컨소시엄 구축- 다층적 갈등시대, 공동체 회복·포용적 정책 구현 혁신 모델 제시 국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 교육부와 한국연구재단의 '2025년 인문사회 융합인재 양성사업(HUSS)'에 포용사회 분야 컨소시엄 협력대학으로 선정됐다.인문사회 융합인재 양성 사업은 학내 학과 간, 대학 간 경계를 허물고 인문사회 기반의 융합형 인재를 키우기 위해 지원하는 사업이다. 2023년부터 매년 새로운 분야를 중심으로 컨소시엄을 선정해 지금까지 8개 분야의 컨소시엄이 선정됐으며, 올해 포용사회, 디지털경제 등 2개 분야가 새로 추가됐다.국립부경대는 주관대학인 인천대와 협력대학인 서강대, 대구대, 상지대와 함께 포용사회 분야에서 광역형 연합 컨소시엄을 구성하고, '다층적 갈등 시대, 포용사회와 공동체 재생을 선도할 문화중개 융합인재 양성'을 비전으로 사업 추진에 나선다. 사업 지원금은 3년간 87억원이다.이 컨소시엄은 국내 최초로 '네트워크형 연합성 독립학부'라는 학제 모델을 도입해 주목받았다. 이 모델은 각 대학 내에 '포용사회융합학부'를 설치해 하나의 연합 학부처럼 공동 운영하는 체계다. 특히 '포용사회입문' 과목은 모든 참여대학 교원이 공동으로 참여하는 팀티칭 방식으로 운영될 예정이다.또 'Credi-T 탐구공동체'라는 비교과 프로그램을 병행해 학생들은 역량 기반 맞춤형 학습 경험을 제공받고, 캡스톤 페스티벌과 연례 학술 행사를 통해 성과를 컨소시엄 내외부에 공유하며 지역 사회와 산업계와의 실질적 연계도 강화할 계획이다.컨소시엄은 첫해에 제도 정비와 교육과정 기반 구축에 나서고, 2차연도에는 포용사회융합학부 설치와 공동교육과정 운영, 3차연도에는 학-석사 연계와 성과확산을 본격화할 계획이다. 융합형 포용사회 전문가를 1차연도에 600명, 3차연도에 2900명을 양성하는 것이 목표다.특히 국립부경대는 '갈등 코디네이터' 육성과 포용사회 대학원 육성에 주력한다. 갈등 코디네이터는 저출생·고령화·지역 소외·이주 문제 등 현대사회의 다양한 문제를 법·정책·디지털적으로 해결할 수 있는 융복합형 인재를 말한다.국립부경대 사업단장인 조세현 교수(사학과)는 "이번 사업은 사학과, 사회복지학전공, 정치외교학과, 유아교육과 등 4개 학과의 연합으로 출발해 단순한 학문 통합을 넘어 실제 사회 현장의 복합적 갈등과 격차 문제를 해결할 수 있는 실천형 융합교육 모델을 제안했다는 의의가 있다"라고 말했다. <부경투데이> Pukyong National University Selected as Partner Institution for Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Talent Development Program- Consortium Formed with Incheon National University, Sogang University, Daegu University, and Sangji University in the Field of “Inclusive Society”- Aims to Present Innovative Models for Community Restoration and Inclusive Policy Amid Multi-Layered Societal Conflict Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) has been selected as a partner institution in the ‘2025 Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Talent Development Program (HUSS),’ funded by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, under the newly designated Inclusive Society track. The Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Talent Development Program supports the cultivation of interdisciplinary talent by breaking down barriers between departments and universities, with a focus on humanities and social sciences. Since its launch in 2023, eight consortiums have been selected across various themes. In 2025, two new thematic areas―Inclusive Society and Digital Economy―have been added. Pukyong National University will join a regional consortium led by Incheon National University, along with Sogang University, Daegu University, and Sangji University. Together, the universities will pursue the vision of “Fostering Cultural Mediators for Community Restoration and Social Inclusion in an Era of Multi-Layered Conflict.” The initiative will receive 8.7 billion KRW in funding over the next three years. The consortium has drawn attention for introducing Korea’s first ‘network-based federated independent college’ model. Under this academic framework, each university will establish a ‘College of Inclusive Society Convergence Studies,’ which will be jointly operated as a single federated academic unit. Notably, the foundational course ‘Introduction to an Inclusive Society’ will be taught through team-teaching by faculty members from all participating institutions. The program will also include a non-credit component called the ‘Credi-T Learning Community,’ offering students personalized, competency-based learning experiences. Outcomes will be shared through a Capstone Festival and annual academic conference, enhancing practical collaboration with local communities and industry partners. In the first year, the consortium will focus on institutional development and curriculum design. In the second year, it will launch the College of Inclusive Society Convergence Studies and begin operating a joint curriculum. By the third year, the program will expand to include integrated bachelor’s？master’s pathways and dissemination of outcomes. The goal is to train 600 convergence-based inclusive society specialists in the first year, and a total of 2,900 by the third year. Pukyong National University will focus its efforts on training ‘conflict coordinators’ and developing a graduate program in inclusive society studies. Conflict coordinators are convergence-based professionals equipped to address modern societal challenges such as low birthrates, aging populations, regional disparity, and migration through legal, policy-driven, and digital approaches. Professor Cho Se-hyun (Department of History), who leads the Pukyong National University project team, stated, “This initiative brings together four academic departments―History, Social Welfare, Political Science and Diplomacy, and Early Childhood Education―to propose a hands-on, interdisciplinary education model that goes beyond academic integration. The program is designed to tackle real-world issues of complex conflict and inequality in society.”

On the morning of June 2, a scholarship donation ceremony was held in the reception room on the third floor of the university’s main administration building. Professor Kim Han-goon’s sons, Kim Jeong-il and Kim Seong-il, attended the ceremony and presented a donation of 10 million KRW to President Bae Sang-hoon. They asked that the funds be used to support students in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering within the College of Engineering, where the late professor Kim Han-goon served during his career. Professor Kim Han-goon, who joined Pukyong National University in 1978 and retired in 2013, dedicated over three decades to education and research. A leading expert in advanced materials, particularly in surface heat treatment of metals, he passed away in April of this year. Beginning in 1984, Professor Kim Han-goon quietly set aside a portion of his monthly salary to support scholarships for his students. By the time he retired, he had donated a total of 10 million KRW―an enduring expression of his deep commitment to student success. His sons, Kim Jeong-il and Kim Seong-il, shared, “Our entire family was always aware of how deeply our father cared for his students. We hope that our father’s legacy and the love he had for his students will continue to live on in the department.” Pukyong National University plans to name the donation the Professor Emeritus Kim Han-goon Memorial Scholarship, which will be used to support current students in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering.
국립부경대, 2025 지역인재 7급 공무원 선발시험 최종 4명 합격- 노효빈·이준성·조희정·황창연△ 지역인재 7급 합격생들. 왼쪽부터 노효빈, 이준성, 조희정, 황창연. 국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 2025년 전국 지역인재 7급 수습직원 선발시험에 4명의 합격자를 배출했다. 국립부경대는 인사혁신처가 시행하는 이 시험에 행정직군 노효빈(언론정보전공 20학번), 조희정(해양수산경영학전공 20학번), 이준성(행정학전공 19학번), 과학기술직군 황창연(토목공학전공 18학번) 등 4명이 올해 최종 합격했다. 지역인재 7급 수습직원 선발시험은 공직의 지역 대표성을 강화하고 충원경로를 다양화하기 위해 지난 2005년 도입됐다. 학과 성적 상위 10% 이내 졸업(예정)자를 추천받아 필기시험, 서류전형, 면접시험을 거쳐 선발한다. 올해 시험에는 전국에서 행정직군 105명, 과학기술직군 53명 등 총 158명이 합격했다. 합격자들은 내년 상반기 중 기본교육을 이수한 뒤 중앙행정기관에서 1년간 수습 근무 후 7급 공무원으로 임용될 예정이다. 이번 시험 합격 비결로 노효빈 씨는 “기출을 여러 번 회독하며 단권화해 나만의 서브노트를 만든 것이 큰 도움이 됐다.”라고 했고, 이준성 씨는 “기출문제를 반복해서 푼 것이 통한 것 같다. 유형별로 본인에게 부족한 것을 파악하는 게 가장 중요하다.”라고 밝혔다. 조희정 씨는 “방대한 공부량을 효율적으로 공부하는 것이 중요하며, 본인만의 문제 풀이 방법을 만들어야 한다.”라고 했고, 황창연 씨는 “타인과 비교하지 않고, 본인에게 맞는 공부법과 멘탈 관리 방법을 찾는 것이 중요하다.”라고 밝혔다. 국립부경대는 지역인재 7급 수습직원 선발시험을 대비해 체계적인 지원프로그램을 운영한 결과 2005년 이후 지금까지 72명의 합격자를 배출했다. 국립부경대는 오는 7월 지역인재 7급 선발시험 제도를 안내하는 학내 설명회를 개최하고, 12월에는 내년 추천 대상자를 선발할 계획이다. <부경투데이>

Pukyong National University has now been selected for this program for 11 consecutive years since 2015, a recognition of its commitment to fair admissions practices and contributions to enhancing the quality of high school education. In particular, the university earned high marks for the evaluation capabilities of its admissions officers and the strength of its outreach programs with high schools. With this selection, Pukyong National University will receive government funding to implement a variety of initiatives, including △research on university admissions systems △collaboration programs with metropolitan and provincial education offices △on-site admissions information sessions at high schools △consulting and training programs for teachers △expanded participation in regional college admissions fairs. The university also plans to further strengthen its admissions system by enhancing transparency, improving policies, and ensuring fair and consistent implementation. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education announced on May 29 that a total of 92 universities nationwide have been selected for the 2025？2026 cycle of the program. Approximately 53.8 billion KRW in base funding will be allocated to the selected institutions this year, with each receiving around 580 million KRW.

Organized by the Student Council (President Hwang Dong-hyun), this year’s festival was themed “Ode to Youth: Coloring Pukyong from the Start of Youth.” The event was designed as a celebration for both students and local residents to enjoy together. Various booths set up on the lawn square featured food and interactive programs prepared by different colleges, departments, and majors. Meanwhile, the main field hosted a flea market and an Open Lounge area, offering comfortable spaces for rest and recreation―encouraging wide participation from both students and community members. The festival’s main stage came alive with a variety of unique and entertaining performances. Students showcased their talents in events such as “Pukyong Singer,” a singing contest featuring celebrity impersonations, “Battle of the Stars,” a talent show with performances by academic departments and student clubs, an electrifying EDM party, and “Visible Radio,” a live communication program held at the radio booth. The evening concerts featured performances by popular artists: STAYC and Han Yo-han opened the festival on the first day, followed by Apink and Roy Kim on the second day. On the final night, the stage was lit up by acts such as Yudabinband, pH-1, and HAON. Interactive events also drew enthusiastic participation. These included “Asphalt Chalk Art,” where students drew pictures directly on a car-free street; “Wish Road,” a space to write and share wishes; and “Treasure Hunt Adventure,” a playful search for hidden items across campus. In addition, international students currently studying at Pukyong National University hosted an “International Day” event, where they introduced their home countries’ traditional cultures and cuisines. Administrative departments also set up booths to promote various student support programs. Beginning as a campus announcer during her student years, she went on to work as a traffic and weather caster at Ulsan Traffic Broadcasting, a radio DJ at Busan FEBC, and an announcer at Jinju KBS before joining KNN. The university installed sculptures of its official mascots, Baekkyong and Ppuggong, along with an “I♡PKNU” sign in front of the quince tree near the main entrance. The area officially opened to the public on the same day. The Main Gate Plaza was established in 2016 as part of the university’s main gate renovation project, during which all gate structures were removed. Since then, the plaza has served as a space for communication and interaction among local residents. In celebration of its 79th anniversary this year and in anticipation of its 80th anniversary next year, Pukyong National University created the photo zone to enhance the symbolic significance of the Main Gate Plaza. The installation aims to foster greater communication and engagement by sharing this meaningful campus space with students, faculty, and visitors alike. The newly installed sculptures of Baekkyong and Ppuggong―mascot characters modeled after the university’s symbolic white whale and the seagulls of Busan―are already popular among students, appearing on plush toys, varsity jackets, keyrings, and other merchandise. The sculptures, placed beside the plaza’s 250-year-old quince tree, are expected to become a new landmark representing Pukyong National University.
