△ 대회에 출전한 D.O.S 팀의 차량 ’nova’

부경대학교 자작자동차 동아리 D.O.S(Dream Of Senna‧회장 권대용‧지도교수 박영환)가 최근 새만금군산자동차경주장에서 열린 2020 KSAE 대학생 자작자동차대회에서 바하(Baja) 부문 장려상을 수상했다.

한국자동차공학회와 한국자동차산업협회가 개최하는 KSAE 대학생 자작자동차대회는 국내 최대 규모의 자작자동차대회다. 14회째를 맞은 올해 대회에는 전국 대학에서 117개 팀이 참가했다.

부경대 D.O.S 팀은 비포장도로를 달리며 승부를 겨루는 Baja 부문에 참가해 설계, 제작, 경주 등 경연을 거쳐 종합성적 장려상을 획득했다.

D.O.S 팀은 비포장도로 주행용 차량(버기카‧buggy car)인 ‘노바(nova)’를 설계, 디자인, 용접 등 모드 제작 과정을 직접 진행하고, 차체 경량화를 통해 이 같은 성과를 올렸다.

D.O.S 회장 권대용 학생(기계설계공학과 3학년)은 “졸업 선배들의 후원과 지도교수님, 부원들의 열정으로 좋은 결과를 얻은 것 같다. 올해 남은 전기차대회에도 출전해 좋은 결과를 낼 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.

창립 25년째인 D.O.S는 지난해에도 이 대회에서 장려상을 수상하는 등 자작자동차 관련 대회에서 뛰어난 성적을 올리고 있다. 부원 20여명이 활동하고 있으며 동아리실은 용당캠퍼스 공학종합실습센터 101호다. <부경투데이>

D.O.S (Dream Of Senna, Kwon Dae-yong, Leader, Park Young-hwan, advisory professor), a self DIY automobile club at Pukyong National University, recently won the Encouragement Prize in the Baja section (Off road type) of the Self DIY Automobile Competition for University Students of 2020 KSAE, which is called 'KSAE Baja & Formula' held at the Saemangeum Gunsan Auto Race Track.

The KSAE university student self DIY car competition held by the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE) and the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA) is the largest self-building car competition in Korea. 117 teams from universities nationwide participated in the 14th competition of this year.

The Pukyong National University D.O.S team participated in the Baja section, where they competed on off-roads, and won the Comprehensive Performance Encouragement Award through competitions such as design, production, and racing.

The D.O.S team directly built, designed, and welded the 'nova', a vehicle for off-road driving (also known as a 'buggy car'), and achieved this achievement by reducing the weight of the vehicle body.

Kwon Dae-yong (3rd grade, Dept. of Mechanical Design Engineering), the D.O.S leader said, "It seems that we have achieved good results with the support of our graduates and the enthusiasm of our advisory professor and team members. we will try to make good results by participating in the remaining electric car competitions this year."

Pukyong National University club D.O.S, which has been in its 25th year, has been making outstanding achievements in competitions related to self-designing cars, also won the Encouragement Award in the same competition last year. About 20 members are currently active in the team, and the club room is at room number 101 of the Engineering Plant building on Yongdang Campus. <Pukyong Today>
