대학생이 직접 만들고 수강하는 교양강의 등장 ‘눈길’
- 부경대, 교양교과목 공모전 수상작 등 2학기 개설 운영

대학생들이 배우고 싶은 교양과목을 직접 설계해 수강할 수 있도록 하면 어떨까? 

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)는 학생들이 직접 설계, 제안한 교양과목을 오는 9월부터 시작되는 2학기에 실제로 신규 개설해 운영한다고 밝혔다.

부경대 학부대학 교양교육원이 2학기에 신규 개발한 교양과목은 모두 4개. 이 가운데 3개가 지난해 열린 ‘내가 원하는 교양교과목 공모전’에서 각각 대상과 최우수상, 우수상을 받은 작품들이다.

대상을 받아 이번에 개설되는 교양교과목 ‘데이터분석기초’는 우리 생활 곳곳에서 생산, 활용되는 다양한 형태의 비정형 빅데이터를 읽고 처리할 수 있는 기초분석 능력을 기를 수 있는 강의다.

데이터가 수학과나 통계학과 등 특정 전공은 물론 많은 분야의 기반이 되는 추세를 반영한 것으로, 프로그래밍 언어인 파이썬과 R코딩 등을 배울 수 있다.

이와 함께 최우수상을 받았던 ‘4차산업혁명개론’은 4차산업에 관한 개념은 물론 융합적·창의적 사고능력을 길러줄 수 있는 강의로 설계, 개설됐고, 우수상을 받았던 ‘지구환경거버넌스’는 최근 주요 이슈로 떠오르는 환경문제에 대한 국제사회의 대응과 지구환경 거버넌스의 개념을 배워 지구환경 문제에 대응하는 능력을 길러준다.

학생들뿐만 아니라 교수들이 연구모임을 통해 새로 개발한 교양교과목 ‘문화아카이브’도 이번에 개설된다.

저마다 다른 전공 교수 4명이 참여해 공동 개발한 이 강의는 주제별 프로젝트 강의로 학생들의 관심사에 따라 각기 다른 학문영역을 선택, 수강할 수 있는 크로스오버형 강의 방식을 채택했다.

오창호 교양교육원장은 “학생들이 원하는 강의를 제안하고 실제로 개설하는 기회를 확대함으로써 자기주도적 융합학습 역량을 길러주기 위한 학생 중심의 교육 혁신 노력을 지속해서 펼쳐나가겠다.”라고 말했다. <부경투데이>

Liberal arts lectures made and taken by university students themselves are attracting attention

What if college students could design and take the liberal arts courses they want to learn?

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that the university will open and operate liberal arts courses directly developed and proposed by students in the second semester starting in upcoming September.

The liberal arts education center at the College of Liberal Arts of Pukyong National University has newly developed four liberal arts courses in the second semester. Of these, three subjects received the grand prize and the 1st sat price each, at the 'Liberal Arts Subjects I Want' contest held last year.

‘Basic Data Analysis’, a liberal arts course that open this time by winning the grand prize, is a lecture that enables students to develop basic analysis skills so that they can read and process various types of atypical big data produced and used in various places in our lives.

It reflects the trend that is the basis of data-rich fields as well as specific majors such as mathematics and statistics, and students can learn programming languages such as Python and R coding.

Along with this, 'An introduction to the 4th Industrial Revolution', which received the 1st sat prize, is designed and opened as a lecture that can nurture convergence and creative thinking ability as well as concepts related to the 4th industry. ‘Global Environmental Governance’, which received the Excellence Award, develops students’ ability to respond to global environmental problems by learning the concept of global environmental governance and the international community’s response to environmental issues that have recently emerged as major issues.

'Culture Archive', liberal arts subject newly developed through research meetings by professors as well as students, will also be offered to students.

This lecture, jointly developed by four professors of different majors, is a project lecture by subject and adopts a crossover lecture method in which students can select and take different academic areas according to their interests.
