| 창학 100년, 발전기금 모금 동참 이어진다 |

서영옥 ㈜화인테크놀리지 대표이사가 창학 100주년을 맞은 모교 국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)에 발전기금 1억 원을 쾌척했다.

서 대표는 3월 18일 오전 국립부경대 3층 총장실을 찾아 장영수 총장에게 발전기금을 전달하며 모교 발전을 응원했다.

서 대표는 “동문 대표이자 지역 기업인으로서 창학 100주년이라는 뜻깊은 순간을 맞은 국립부경대의 발전을 응원하기 위해 기부에 동참한다.”라고 말했다.

서 대표는 지난 2015년 부경대 첫 여성 총동창회장으로 선출돼 제10대 총동창회장을 역임한 데 이어 지난해 제14대 총동창회장으로 재임하는 등 모교 지원에 앞장서고 있으며, 이번 발전기금을 비롯해 지금까지 2억 9천만 원을 모교에 기부하며 대학 발전을 지원해 왔다.

서 대표는 “지역 대표 특성화 종합국립대학으로 발전해 온 국립부경대가 앞으로 더욱 빛나는 100년으로 나아가기를 바라며, 이번 기부가 국립부경대 발전을 위해 대학 구성원은 물론, 지역사회의 동참으로 이어지기를 기대한다.”라고 밝혔다.

한편 국립부경대는 올해 창학 100년을 맞아 ‘창학 100년 발전기금(New-Turn 100)’ 모금, 소액 기부 캠페인 등 대학 발전을 위한 지원사업을 펼치고 있으며, 최근 강남주 전 총장 1억, 장선덕 전 총장의 1억 2천 기부에 이어 지난 4일 장영수 총장의 1억 쾌척을 비롯해 소액 기부 3,800만 원 등 발전기금 기부가 이어지고 있다. <부경투데이>

Seo Young-Ok, ceo of Fine technology, generously donated 100 million won to her alma mater, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo), in celebration of its centennial anniversary.

On the morning of March 18th, Ms. Seo visited the office of President Jang Young-Soo on the 3rd floor of Pukyong National University, delivering a donation to the development fund and expressing support for the advancement of her alma mater.

Ms. Seo said, "As an alumni representative and a local businessperson, I am contributing to support the advancement of Pukyong National University on its meaningful occasion of the centennial anniversary."

In 2015, Ms. Seo was elected as the first female president of the Pukyong National University alumni association, serving as the 10th president, and she continued her commitment by being re-elected as the 14th president last year, leading support for the alma mater, while also donating a total of 290 million won to the university to support its development including the recent contribution to the development fund.

Ms. Seo said, "With a history of development as a specialized comprehensive national university representing the region, I hope that Pukyong National University will continue to advance into a shining centennial era, and I believe that my donation, along with the participation of university members and the local community, will contribute to the ongoing development of Pukyong National University."

In celebration of its centennial anniversary this year, Pukyong National University is actively promoting various support initiatives for university development, such as the New-Turn 100 fundraising campaigns and small donation drives, with recent contributions to the development fund totaling 100 million won from former president Kang Nam-Ju, 120 million won from former president Jang Seon-Deok, and 100 million won from current President Jang Young-Soo on the 4th of last month, alongside small donations totaling 38 million won. <Pukyong Today>
