부경대, 정부초청 외국인 대학원 장학생 역대 최다 26명 입학

- ‘정부초청 외국인 수학대학’·‘한일 공동 유학생 수학대학’ 잇달아 선정

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)는 2022학년도 2학기 정부초청 외국인 장학생(GKS) 대학원 과정 신입생으로 역대 최다인 26명을 유치했다고 8월 30일 밝혔다.

부경대는 이날 오전 미래관 2층 소민홀에서 벨라루스 출신 루닥 밀라나 씨(화학융합공학부 박사과정) 등 26명이 참석한 가운데 정부초청 외국인 장학생 대학원 과정 신입생 오리엔테이션을 개최했다.

부경대가 지난 2008년 교육부 국립국제교육원의 정부초청 외국인 장학생 사업 선정 이후 이 사업으로 대학원 과정에 유치한 유학생 수는 모두 133명이다. 이번 학기 신입생 26명은 단일학기 기준 최다 규모다.

정부초청 외국인 장학생 사업은 국제적 친한 네트워크 구축과 대학의 글로벌 경쟁력 제고를 위해 세계 각국의 우수 인재를 선발해 국내 대학 학위 취득을 지원하는 정부의 대표적인 국제 장학사업이다.

특히 부경대는 국립국제교육원으로부터 2023~2025 정부초청 외국인 장학생 학위과정 수학대학, 2023~2025 한일 공동 고등교육 유학생 교류사업 수학대학으로 최근 잇달아 선정되며 세계 우수 유학생 유치 및 교육 활동에 탄력을 받게 됐다.

한편 부경대는 현재(’22.4. 기준) 대학원 과정을 비롯해 학부, 교환학생, 어학연수 등 과정에 65개국에서 온 외국인 학생 1,542명이 유학하고 있다. <부경투데이>

A new record of 26 global graduate scholarship students invited by the government entered PKNU

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced on August 30 that it has attracted 26 students, a record number of freshmen for the GKS graduate program in the second semester of the 2022 academic year.

Pukyong National University held an orientation for new students in the graduate program for Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) this morning in the Somin hall on the second floor of the Mirae building with 26 people attending, including Rudak Milan (Ph.D student in chemical engineering) from Belarus.

Since Pukyong National University was selected for GKS by the National Institute of International Education by the Ministry of Education in 2008, Pukyong National University has attracted a total of 133 international students to its graduate programs through this project. The number of 26 freshmen this semester is the largest in a single semester.

The GKS program is the government's representative international scholarship program that supports the acquisition of domestic university degrees by selecting outstanding talents from around the world to build a close international network with Korea and enhance the global competitiveness of universities.

In particular, Pukyong National University has recently been selected as a GKS university by the National institute for international education from 2023 to 2025 and as a joint high education exchange project university between Korea and Japan from 2023 to 2025, gaining momentum in attracting and educational activities for outstanding international students.
