웅비탑 활용 야간 영상 콘텐츠 ‘눈길’

- 백경·사계 등 대학 상징 담아 … 창학 100주년 위상·정체성 표현

국립부경대학교 대연캠퍼스 회전 교차로에 새로 조성된 웅비탑을 활용한 야간 영상 콘텐츠가 눈길을 끌고 있다.

국립부경대는 창학 100주년의 위상과 정체성을 조명 영상으로 표현한 콘텐츠 ‘찬란한 부경’을 제작하고, 웅비탑 파사드에 최근 상영을 시작했다.

웅비탑은 총동창회에서 100주년을 기념할 수 있는 상징 조형물이 있으면 좋겠다는 의견을 내 세워진 기념탑이다. 동문 등 총동창회와 학내 구성원들이 모금한 기념탑 건립지원 발전기금 등으로 세워졌다. 탑의 명칭은 1987년 세워진 미래관 앞 웅비석탑에서 계승했다.

이 탑은 우리 대학의 높은 위상과 세계로 뻗어 나가는 진취적인 기상을 상징적으로 구현했는데, 나침반 모양의 바닥 위에 지구를 감싸는 손 모양으로 탑을 디자인해 교훈인 ‘미래를 우리 손으로’를 형상화했다.

탑 꼭대기에는 지구를 거꾸로 설치해 한국이 육지의 끝이 아닌 바다의 시작이라는 의미를 담아 이곳 캠퍼스를 출발점으로 드넓은 바다로 우리의 무대를 넓혀나가자는 정신을 표현했다.

웅비탑을 활용한 야간 영상 콘텐츠 ‘찬란한 부경’도 이 같은 상징성을 담았다. 우리 대학 슬로건과 기념문구로 창학 100주년의 역사성을 표현했고, 학교 상징 동물인 백경(향유고래)이 유영하는 모습을 통해 무한한 자유와 참된 진리를 탐구하는 정신을 형상화했다.

또 벚꽃, 단풍 등 계절별 나무의 모습을 다채로운 색상과 환상적인 느낌으로 구현해 캠퍼스의 찬란한 사계절을 담아냈다.

이 영상들은 매일 오후 8시, 9시, 10시 정각부터 10분간 상영된다. <부경투데이>

Nighttime video content featuring the Ungbi tower catches the eye

- a white whale and the four seasons, the symbols of the university captured to express the prestige and identity of the centennial of its founding

A newly created Ungbi tower at the rotary within the Daeyeon campus of Pukyong National University is attracting attention with its nighttime video content.

Pukyong National University recently began screening 'Glorious Pukyong', a content piece that expresses the prestige and identity of the university's 100th anniversary through illuminating video projections on the Ungbi tower facade.

The Ungbi tower was established following the collective opinion from the alumni association, which suggested having a symbolic monument to commemorate the 100th anniversary. It was funded through the monument construction support development fund, raised by alumni and university members. The name of the tower is inherited from the Ungbi stone tower, established in front of the Mirae building in 1987.

The tower symbolizes the university's high status and progressive spirit reaching out to the world. Designed with a hand encircling the globe atop a compass-shaped base, it embodies the school motto, 'the Future is in our hands'.

At the top of the tower, the globe is installed upside down to signify that Korea is not the end of the land but the beginning of the sea, encouraging the expansion of our stage from this campus to the vast ocean.

The nighttime video content 'Glorious Pukyong', screened through the Ungbi tower, also embodies this symbolism. It expresses the historical significance of the university's centennial with our university slogans and commemorative phrases, and it depicts the spirit of exploring infinite freedom and true truth through the image of the university symbolic animal, the Baekyong (white whale), swimming.

Additionally, the video captures the splendid four seasons of the campus by vividly and fantastically portraying the seasonal trees, including cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, in a variety of colors.

These videos are screened daily at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:00 PM for ten minutes each. <Pukyong Today>
